WHAT ESSENTIAL INFORMATION DO GUESTS NEED TO KNOW?
the nfl draft will be taking place in washington, dc the weekend of our wedding. this event is expected to bring a million visitors to our city, and will create some challenges for our event logistics. we are prioritizing guest experience in light of this development, and will post more information on this site as available. please check back regularly!
most importantly: we encourage you to reserve your flights and hotel rooms as soon as possible.
most events will occur on the national mall thursday-friday. road closures may affect attendees' arrivals and transit plans on friday. logan circle is walkable to all friday events, and we encourage you to find accommodations in that general vicinity.

WHAT'S THE RSVP DEADLINE?
you will receive your invitation this winter, which will state our RSVP deadline; our online RVSP form will open then.
CAN I BRING A DATE?
if we've planned for you to bring a guest, it will be noted on your invitation. if you have a significant other we aren't aware of, please feel comfortable reaching out to us.
ARE CHILDREN WELCOME?
yes, we are thrilled to celebrate with our youngest, and are planning our events around whole family experiences. children are welcome at all events except our afterparty. we'll have childcare support (e.g. babysitters) available on site for our ceremony and reception - our online RSVP form will gather information about your family needs to ensure parents get any dedicated dance floor time desired.
WHAT IS THE DRESS CODE?
for our wedding ceremony and reception, we are excited to celebrate a dreamy and elevated evening with all of our loved ones. our dress code is black tie preferred - gentlemen are encouraged to wear tuxedos and ladies formal, floor length attire. dark suits and eveningwear are also welcome, as are bright colors and creative formalwear that emanate elegance.
our welcome party is upscale casual - think polished but comfortable. gentlemen are encouraged to wear slacks with sweaters or blazers without ties. ladies will be appropriately attired in dresses, slacks, or rompers/jumpsuits, keeping weather in mind.
HOW CLOSE ARE THE VENUES? HOW DO I GET BETWEEN THEM?
all wedding events except our ceremony & reception will take place in the centrally-located downtown washington, dc neighborhood of logan circle. all events except the wedding ceremony & reception are walkable from recommended hotels.
our ceremony & reception will both take place at supply house in the navy yard neighborhood. we will offer shuttles from the viceroy hotel (our room block location) to our wedding venue, and from our reception back to the viceroy or the afterparty at the conclusion of our event. we strongly encourage guests to avail themselves of our shuttle given anticipated road closures and traffic associated with the nfl draft. more details will be available in the spring - please check back when you receive your invitation.
all other transit will be at guests' discretion, and we urge planning around possible traffic delays. double your travel time! ubers/lyfts are generally very easy to find in all areas, but wait times can get longer during peak demand associated with large events.
WHEN SHOULD I ARRIVE AT THE CEREMONY?
we encourage you to arrive by five to enjoy a beverage and find a seat before our ceremony begins promptly at five-thirty.
WHAT WILL THE WEATHER BE LIKE?
dc's spring weather can be unpredictable. days should be beautiful with highs in the mid-70s, though could reach the low 90s. nights cool down to around 60. rain is possible, but likely to be short-lived.
IS THE WEDDING OUTDOORS?
our ceremony and reception will take place indoors. outdoor space will be available as part of our cocktail hour and evening reception. there will be a separate outdoor plaza area for cigars.
WHAT IF IT RAINS?
we have an on-site rain plan and all events will proceed as scheduled. no umbrellas needed.
ARE NAVY YARD AND LOGAN CIRCLE SAFE NEIGHBORHOODS?
yes, both navy yard and logan circle are central, safe, and well-maintained neighborhood in DC. that said, it is downtown! sirens and police activity are normal in both areas during weekend evenings. in the navy yard area, youth activity can be boisterous, and there is a curfew in place for under 18s on weekends. in logan circle, 14th street can also be very active, and there is a small homeless population in the area. in both areas, incidents are rare - if anything feels uncomfortable, move along. additionally, we recommend you avoid discussing any political views while in our neighborhoods, whichever ones you espouse.
